About Us

Kathleen Mochnacki, Chair is a member of the Implementation Committee of the Affordable Housing Strategy Committee of Richmond Hill representing supportive housing providers. She sits on York Region Homelessness Community Board and is also a member of the High Support Housing Advisory Committee and the PWLE-High Support Housing Study at CAMH whose goal is to determine standards for supportive housing. As a social worker who is also a caregiver of a vulnerable family member, she believes that properly managed supportive housing is a necessary component of safe and healthy communities.

Cheryl Geness Vice Chair is a Richmond Hill business leader and strategic advisor with extensive experience in mortgage financing, real estate, organizational development, and community engagement. As Vice Chair of RHSHC, she applies her business acumen, advocacy, and results-driven leadership to strengthen collaboration and advance practical affordable and supportive housing solutions for people facing barriers to safe, stable housing.

Maggie Veltheer, Treasurer is an accountant who has worked at Home on the Hill Supportive Housing developing programs and doing the administration for 14 years. She is a former psychiatric nurse and has a son with schizophrenia.

Mona Lancaster, Board Member is the Chair of Memory Lane Home Living Inc., a Richmond Hill-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people living with dementia and those who care for them. The organization provides dementia education, community day programming, and is developing the innovative Living with Us Multi-Stakeholder Cooperative. Drawing on both extensive personal and professional experience with dementia, Mona is passionate about creating a cooperative model of living that enables families to remain actively involved while fostering meaningful community connections outside the traditional institutional care setting.

Gary Gladstone CFRE, Board Member is Lead, Stakeholder Relations at Reena, Chair of the Intentional Community Consortium (ICC), and a recipient of the Order of Vaughan, recognized for his community leadership and advocacy. He works collaboratively with government, community organizations, and families to advance inclusive, affordable, and supportive housing for people with diverse abilities.

Alex Cheng, Board Member is Vice President of Programs and Services at Blue Door. He has over 20 years of experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness. He brings a wealth of knowledge of the York Region community, experience developing and launching new programs, collaborating with partners, evaluating projects, working directly with vulnerable individuals, and has a thorough understanding of existing community needs and barriers faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.

Raphael Arens, Board Member is the Project Manager at L’Arche Daybreak, where he leads the development of an inclusive, affordable, and accessible supportive housing initiative. With more than 25 years of experience in L’Arche, including 10 years as Executive Director of L’Arche Toronto, he is dedicated to building inclusive communities where people with and without developmental disabilities can belong, thrive, and share their lives together in relationships of mutual support and respect.

Trish Glennon, Board Member, is the Executive Director of L’Arche Daybreak. She joined L’Arche 30 years ago, inspired by its values, mission, and model of living alongside one another. All these years later, L’Arche continues to be a source of tremendous inspiration and hope for her. Trish is grateful to be part of the Richmond Hill Supportive Housing Collaboration and to work alongside others who are committed to upholding the dignity of the most vulnerable members of our communities and advancing deeply affordable, supportive housing for those who need it.

Angela Rosa, Board Member is the Founder and President of The Rosa Family Foundation and has dedicated her life to serving families through advocacy, community engagement, and charitable initiatives. Inspired by her family's experiences as both caregivers and advocates, she is committed to expanding supportive housing and fostering communities where everyone belongs.
